In my last blog post I spoke about the 5 reasons why your business should be using Facebook Live, but you may be asking 'what should I be streaming about?'. These are just the tip of the iceberg but here are my 8 ideas for Facebook Live streams.
Unboxing
Are you releasing a new product and have your first shipment of the boxed product? Why not live stream an unboxing video? This is a great way to show off your new product, it's packaging and show exactly what is included in the box. You might want to go as far as showing how to first set the product up.
You could even make a new video for any old products that have new packaging.
Office Tour
Having a personal connection with a brand is becoming increasingly important. What better way of helping your customers learn more about you and your company than by showing them where you work? You could also use the stream to introduce some of the team members that work behind the scenes but are rarely seen.
Special Occasions
Following on from the office tour, another way to build a relationship with your customers is bring them in on special occasions (online of course). This could be as small as the team enjoying some lovely cupcakes brought in by a staff member. Opening the secret Santa presents at Christmas (just make sure they are appropriate). Celebrating a staff members birthday with cake and candles or showing off the staffs amazing Haloween costumes. There are lots of opportunities to let your customers get to know the personalities that work on the team.
FAQs
Are there certain questions that you get asked all of the time? A creative idea would be to take 5-10 of these questions and answer them in a live stream. Whilst you are running through your answers you can also keep an eye on the comments section and answer live follow-up questions from your viewers. Don't forget you can always go back after the live stream has finished and reply to any comments directly.
As a bonus, if you are asked the same questions in the future you can point your customers towards the archived video.
Events/trade shows
If you have a stand at an upcoming event or trade show then you have many options for live streaming. First, you could live stream the stand being built, obviously the flashier the stand, the more interesting the video.
Next, you could do a walk around of the show floor, ending at your booth. Just make sure it is busy.
Finally, you could interview some of the guests at your booth as you are likely to meet a few industry leaders. Most of the time they will be happy to be interviewed as it will be good for their exposure.
Special Offers and Sales
Rather than using the usual channels to promote a sale or special offers why not do it through a live stream? You could title the stream 'Big savings on...' or something similar to get the viewers attention when it pops up in their notifications. During the stream, you could also showcase some of the products that are in the sale, particularly the lines that you are looking to move.
If you want to take it a step further you could give out an extra discount code that can only be found if you watch the live stream. A good idea would be to announce the news of a code at the beginning of the stream, keep reminding the viewers throughout and finally give the code at the end.
Weekly round up
If you have a busy week with lots of news about your company, why not compile it into a weekly round up. This could be anything from getting new clients, having your company or products featured in the news, finishing the prototype of a new product and much more.
Behind The Scenes
Are you filming a new video or taking new photos? Why not live stream some of the process to get your customers excited for the final release.
These ideas are just a start but will hopefully give you a chance to find your live streaming feet. As with all marketing, it is all about testing. Try out as many ideas as you can and find out what your customers respond to. Once you know this it is just a case of producing more of that content.
Still looking for more inspiration? Why don't you check some of your favourite brands on Facebook to see how they are using Facebook Live. Use their examples for inspiration for your own live streams.
Until next time.
